Monthly pricing overview
A straightforward monthly fee, based on real bookkeeping work.
Your monthly fee is based on the number of bookkeeping transactions processed and reviewed each month. This helps keep pricing fair for businesses with different sizes and activity levels.
Standard monthly plan
$150 per month for up to 75 bookkeeping transactions.
The standard plan is designed for small businesses that want current, organized bookkeeping without the complexity of a full-time internal bookkeeper.
-
>Up to 75 bookkeeping transactions per month included
>$2 per transaction beyond 75 in a given month
>Transactions we enter or review & reconcile all count toward this total
>Available for new and existing Nova Ledgers bookkeeping clients
Setup fee: A one-time setup fee of $100 applies when we first organize
your bookkeeping workflow. This fee is waived when you pay three months of bookkeeping
fees in advance at the start of the engagement.
What the monthly fee covers
Your monthly bookkeeping fee typically includes:
-
>Recording and/or reviewing and categorizing income and expense transactions
>Monthly reconciliation of relevant bank and credit-card accounts
>Review of accounts receivable and accounts payable balances
>Basic financial reporting (e.g., Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet)
Additional services such as extensive catch-up bookkeeping, special reporting, or process redesign may be scoped and priced separately based on your needs.
How we count transactions
Simple definition. Clear rules for invoices with many line items.
Each transaction represents a distinct entry in your books. Invoices with many retail line items are treated as multiple transactions, whether Nova Ledgers enters them or reviews transactions you have already entered in QuickBooks Online.
What counts as a transaction?
In your monthly bookkeeping, a “transaction” is a recorded item in your ledger that affects your accounts. Examples include:
-
>Customer invoices, sales receipts, and customer payments
>Supplier bills and bill payments
>Expense payments (e.g., rent, utilities, subscriptions)
>Bank transfers and credit-card payments
>Other distinct entries that affect your financial balances
This transaction-based approach allows us to match pricing to the actual volume of bookkeeping work your business requires each month.
Invoices with many retail line items
Retail-style invoices or receipts with many individual line items take more time to process and review than simple, single-line invoices. To keep pricing fair, they are treated as more than one transaction when they are broken down in your bookkeeping records.
Practical guideline for line-heavy invoices:
-
>Invoices with up to 5 line items are typically counted as
1 transaction.
>Invoices with more line items are counted as multiple transactions,
based on how many lines are recorded, reviewed, and categorized in your books.
>Very long, retail-style invoices are never treated as just one transaction when
they involve many separate line items being entered or reviewed.
>
This applies whether Nova Ledgers enters the invoice or reviews a detailed invoice
you have already entered in QuickBooks Online.
We will review your invoicing patterns during onboarding so that you understand how your invoices affect transaction counts and monthly fees.
Examples and FAQs
How the pricing works in practice.
These examples are for illustration only. We will confirm your actual transaction counts and fees based on your real bookkeeping activity.
Example 1: Service business with simple invoices
A consulting business issues a small number of invoices each month, with one or two line items per invoice. Most expenses are straightforward and paid directly from a business bank account or credit card.
In this case, each invoice and each expense payment typically counts as one transaction. The business may fall comfortably within the 75 transactions included in the standard monthly fee.
Example 2: Retail business with line-heavy invoices
A retail business uses detailed invoices or receipts with many individual items. When these invoices are broken down into the books—or reviewed after you enter them in QuickBooks Online—they are counted as multiple transactions rather than a single entry.
This ensures that the pricing reflects the additional bookkeeping work involved in processing and categorizing many separate line items, while still keeping the structure transparent.
Do all months have the same fee?
Your base fee remains the same as long as your transaction volume stays at or below 75 transactions per month. If a particular month has more activity, the additional transactions are billed at $2 each on top of the base fee.
